This journey takes you from Paris to Chartres through the beautiful landscapes in the Ile-de-France. You can make the trip by car or train. It takes an hour and a quarter to two hours depending on your mode of transport.
By car, you can leave Paris by taking the A10, which will take you to the suburbs and then out into the countryside. On the way, you will pass through Rambouillet and Dreux with their picturesque squares and historical landmarks.
You will see the landscape becoming more rolling as you continue through Ile-de-France. Wheat and corn fields stretch to the horizon. You’ll travel through the charming towns of Maintenon, Nogent-le-Roi, and Chartres before arriving at Chartres.
Chartres has a rich cultural heritage and is a beautiful town in the Ile-de-France. It’s known for its stunning cathedral. Chartres Cathedral is located in the town and is considered one of Europe’s best examples of Gothic architectural style. The interior of the Cathedral was filled with beautiful stained glass and I climbed the towers to see the views.
The journey between Paris and Chartres, whether by car or train, is a wonderful trip through the Ile-de-France region.
